Acceptance

By using GradeROI you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the site. You must be at least 13 years old. This is a general-audience tool about the economics of card grading and is not directed at children; if you believe a child has sent us information, tell us and we will delete it.

What GradeROI is

GradeROI estimates whether grading a trading card is likely to beat selling it raw. It is a model built on public data, and its output is an estimate carrying real uncertainty — not a prediction, not a valuation, and not financial or investment advice. We are not licensed advisers, brokers or appraisers, and nothing here is a recommendation to buy, sell, hold or grade anything.

Grades are assigned by the grading companies, not by us. A card the model treats as a likely 10 can come back a 7, or come back ungradeable. Prices shown are averages of past sales, some resting on very few of them; the site says so where that is the case. Decisions you make are yours alone.

Where the numbers come from

Prices and population figures come from public third-party sources, and card rarities from TCGdex under an MIT licence. Grading fees are published list rates that change without notice. We do not control any of these sources and do not warrant that they are accurate, complete, or current.

Pokémon and all related names and marks are trademarks of Nintendo, Creatures Inc. and GAME FREAK inc. GradeROI is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to Nintendo, The Pokémon Company, PSA or Collectors Universe, Beckett, CGC, TAG, eBay, TCGplayer, or any other company named on this site. All trademarks belong to their owners and are used only to identify what they refer to.

Card artwork is the copyright of its owners, shown at small size for the sole purpose of identifying the card a page is about, which we believe is fair use. If you own rights in material shown here and want it removed, contact us with the page and what you own, and we will take it down while we look into it.

Affiliate and outbound links

Some outbound links are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission when you buy through one, at no additional cost to you. Those links are marked on the page. They do not affect how any verdict is calculated: the figures are worked out before we know where, or whether, you would buy.

We link to marketplaces and grading companies we do not operate. We are not responsible for their content, prices, listings, availability, or how they handle your data, and a link is not an endorsement. Once you leave this site their terms and privacy policies apply, not ours.

Acceptable use

Use the site normally and you will never notice a limit. You agree not to:

• scrape, crawl, or bulk-collect data from the site, or use it to build or train a competing dataset, product, or model;
• attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its systems, or its data, or to disrupt or overload it;
• circumvent rate limits or other technical restrictions;
• resell, redistribute, or publicly display the site’s data or output as your own.

We may restrict or withdraw access at any time, without notice, for any reason, including suspected breach of these terms.

Our content, and yours

The site, its design, its text, and the model and calculations behind it are owned by us and protected by copyright and other laws. You may view and use the site for your own personal, non-commercial purposes. Nothing here transfers any ownership to you.

If you send us a message, a bug report, or a correction, you grant us permission to read it, store it, and act on it — including using a suggestion to improve the site — without owing you anything for it. Please do not send confidential information or anything you are not free to share.

No warranty, and our liability

The site is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any figure shown on it is correct.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or opportunity, arising from your use of the site, including money lost on grading fees, shipping, a sale, or a purchase. Our total aggregate liability for all claims relating to the site is limited to one hundred United States dollars (US$100). Some jurisdictions do not allow certain exclusions of liability, so parts of this may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify and hold us harmless from any claim, loss, or expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising from your use of the site or your breach of these terms.

Changes and access

We may change the site or these terms at any time. Continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the updated terms, and the date at the top shows when they were last revised. Access may be interrupted by maintenance, failure, or causes outside our control, and we may suspend or discontinue the site at any time without notice.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules. Any dispute will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in California, and you consent to their jurisdiction. If any part of these terms is held unenforceable, the rest remains in force. These terms are the entire agreement between us about the site, and replace anything said before. Data we collect from you

We collect what you type into the search box — the words themselves, the time, and the card they matched. This is stored without any identifier: no account, no cookie, and no IP address is saved with it, so we cannot tell which searches came from the same person.

We collect what you send us through the contact form, along with the page you were on, your browser’s user-agent, and a request identifier that lets us find the visit in our server logs.

To stop abuse we store a one-way hash of your IP address, which expires within an hour and cannot be turned back into an address.

How we use it

We use search terms to decide which cards are worth keeping priced and up to date. We use your messages to reply to you. That is all we use them for.

Sharing data with third parties

We do not sell, rent, or give away your information. We use service providers to run the site — hosting, our database, and email delivery — and they process data only on our instructions. We will share information with law enforcement only when presented with a valid legal order.

Information retention

We retain this information indefinitely. You can ask us to delete anything we hold about you by contacting us or emailing support@graderoi.app. Search terms are stored with no identifier attached, so there is nothing in them we can match to you — we cannot delete what we have no way to find.

Cookies and analytics

GradeROI sets no cookies of its own today. We use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages get used, and it sets cookies that last up to two years. You can block cookies in your browser at any time; the site works exactly the same without them.

For EU and UK users only: analytics cookies are not strictly necessary, so we do not load them for visitors in the EU or UK at all. Nothing is set, nothing is sent, and there is nothing for you to consent to or opt out of. You may still ask what we hold, have it corrected or deleted, and complain to your national data protection authority.

Affiliate links

Some links to eBay and TCGplayer are affiliate links, and we may earn a commission if you buy after following one. Clicking takes you to that company, which sets its own cookies under its own privacy policy. We are told only that a purchase was attributed to us, never what you viewed or bought.
